The School Board The basic function of the school board is to establish policies that are commensurate with the school's bylaws. The school board broadens the base of judgment upon which school policy is made through school board committee participation and input. The board then entrusts the implementation of its established policies and the day-by-day administrative decisions to their professional representatives, the headmaster and the school administration.
